After leaving Albany on Monday morning, headed up the road about 50kms north to Porongurup ranges. Stopped @ the Tree in rock reserve & went for a stroll through the forest, had a lovely fresh smell due to rain
Val & Maurice. We had met this couple in Mt Magnet last year & spent a few days with them at Leinster & Menzies. We all went on our merry way & we thought they were long gone back to the eastern states. We needed to turn around @ Porongurup & only place was through the caravan park & next minute Maurice steps out onto the road & said where did you come from!!!! Needless to say we booked into park & spent next few hours catching up on what we had all been doing since we last saw each other. Next morning they were off to Denmark & Bob & I just up the road to Stirling ranges.

Lochan Ora
Well I have finally done damage to this bottle of Lochan Ora. It was given to me for my 30th birthday which was many moons again. Must say it was very smooth after 32 years in the cupboard. YUMMIE, just slipped down the throat

Crystal Springs near Walpole
Bob & I went to visit our friends Peg & Mike @ Crystal Springs about 15kms west of Walpole. They are camp hosting at this lovely campsite under a canopy of old peppermint trees.
Mike at Mandalay beach, where there was a ship wreck of a Norwegian schooner in 1911, was the Captains last voyage after being at sea for 45 years. What a way to go out, definitely with a BIG BANG. This part of the coast, way back then, didn't have to many people living here & they were a few days on the beach before they managed to climb up over the sand dunes & find help. Only 2 families lived in the area & they were lucky to be found.

Albany trots
A trip to the trots last Friday night saw us watching the girls pony races. Was great fun watching them race around the track. Girls own & train their own ponies, some future drivers amongst this lot.
