Woodanilling
Heritage walk opened in 2008, short walk around town & tells the history of buildings etc
CWA rooms
Richardson & Co store, built in 1905 the store catered for farmers, shepherds, teamsters, rail & road workers, land clearers, sandalwood cutters & hunters. Some of them would obtain their supplies of flour, tea & sugar & tinned food on credit for several months before returning with bark, wood & skins to settle their accounts
This is the new general store
War memorial. So many of these small towns lost many of the young men in the district who went off on a big adventure to fight in World War 1 & many never come home again
Baptist church has now been decommissioned, local folk still hold Christmas & Easter services here each year & accompanied by music played on the old organ
Big Tree challenge. This Salmon tree is estimated to be over 300 years old. Challenge is out to other shires to see if anyone can beat their tree!!!
Woodanilling tavern. Apparently it has a few "ghostly stories" haunt the history of this beautiful two storey pub which is just over 100 years old. When we visited the town on Sunday it was closed, so didn't get to have a look inside
Primary school
Beautiful old tree outside the primary school
