Redruth Goal

Erected in 1856 it was the first goal in Sth Aust outside Adelaide. It housed 30 male & female prisoners. When it closed in 1897 it was renovated & opened as a Girls' reformatory & closed in 1922. It was also a family home to 2 families during this time.
