After leaving Smoky bay, had 2 nights camping at Haslam campground $5 per van a night. Next stop Perlubie beach 20kms north Streaky bay. Great spot & a freebie. Gone fishing!! In years gone by they held horse races along this beach All that remains of a settlers stone cottage Bob, Neville & Renata couple from Brisbane we met @ Haslams campground. They are crazy NRL supporters. Neville - Titans & Renata - Storms Countryside is a wash with yellow wildflowers, looks absolutely beautiful, especially when the paddock runs down to the blue water. Another glorious sunset
After leaving Ceduna had couple night free camping & then headed down east coast of Eyre peninsula to Smoky bay. A sleepy fishing/holiday village. Cute church Lovely pine trees along the main drag Bob out on jetty. All these villages have a jetty, harks back to days when sailing ships came in to get the wool & grain & take it to Adelaide Swimming enclosure off the jetty. These waters are renowned for BIG BITEY things, commonly known as GREAT WHITE SHARKS!!! Only way I would go swimming & hopefully the water would be a touch warmer!!!! Beach front Fishermans huts Rich oyster farmers houses right on beach. Bit different to old huts further up the beach!! Bob trying to get the shell to skip across the water Oyster farmers bringing the punts ashore stacked high with oyster racks to sort out for grading & then taking back out to the leases. Apparently they do this 8 times before they are ready for market. Oyster racks Tractor pulls the whole punt from water & takes it to shed for sorting Razor fish, looks like a very large scallop. Lovely sunset over the jetty
