Goomalling & Wongan Hills

Left Fremantle on Monday 20th Sept & headed off through Perth & Midland & then turned North East driving through small towns that we hadn't been to before in our travels. First stop Goomalling in middle of farming/sheep country but sadly since the railway has closed most of the township along the line are now just barely hanging in there. Not many shops still trading, usually a pub if their lucky & supermarket & petrol.

Mural on wall of the old one room schoolhouse in Goomalling

Bob walking around the rock that use to supply water to the town & we were looking for wildflowers along the pathway

Goomalling tavern. The barmaid was a classic, not the prettiest but full of country hospitality & ready for a yarn!!!

Next town along the way was Wongan hills, nice tidy town but also very quiet. They had converted the railway station into tourist info & had painted these murals on the walls etc
