Red Hill

After leaving Port Pirie & a quick trip through Crystal brook (gorgeous quaint town, definitely going back to have a good look around) decided to spend the night @ Redhill. We inquired at General store where we could park for the night & told just to go along the road near river & pick a spot. Sounds good to me.

On the way into town from the highway is this monument to all the farmers/settlers to the area in 1840's give or take a year or two!!!

Euraka Hotel built in 1878. Bob & I went to have a couple of ales & found ourselves to be the only folk in the pub. Started chatting with the owner Jane who has been there for last 5 years. Pub has quite a history & 3 GHOSTS. Jane has heard on several occassions 2 people walking up the stairs & going into room 3. After they have been in the room, the chair by the door is always over by the window & curtains tied in a knot. Also one night when she was closing up, she saw an apparition come through the locked door (has been locked for many a year)from the street, walk through the bar into the hallway & go up the stairs. The person, she saw,(dressed in late 1890's farm clothes) is in a photo in the bar. SPOOKY!!! Don't think I would like to live in the pub on my own with all these ghosts!!! Apparently the "Girls of the Night" worked from the balcony of the pub, maybe the 2 ghosts are 1 of the girls & a gentleman!!!!!
