After leaving Hawker headed up the highway 30kms to Rawnsley Park station which is still a working sheep station, situated on the outside of Wilpena pound on the southern side.
View along the road to Rawnsley park
Lovely bush walk through the native pine forest
Rawnsley bluff forms part of the perimeter of the pound
Beautiful River red gum trees
Flowering gum
Camp site @ Rawnley park
Bob getting the fire ready to cook dinner "Rissoles & mash"!!!
Placing a stone on the cairn
Rawnsley bluff
View across Rawnsley park to rugged hills that make up Wilpena pound
Another walk with Flinders ranges in back ground
After placing my stone on the cairn & when I turned around to head back down the track a LARGE BROWN SNAKE slithered across the path behind me. I just caught some movement out the corner of my eye & nearly had a heart attack, just abit to UP CLOSE & PERSONAL FOR MY LIKING!!!!!
The old woolshed has been turned into a very upmarket restaurant for the guests staying in the cabins & eco camp
One of the original buildings of Rawnsley park station dating back to late 1800's
These emus got spooked when we passed them on the road & we actually saw them jump the wire fence. Having long legs sure does help!!!!!!!!!
