Talc Alf on outskirts of Lyndhurst

After spending the night @ Farina ruins campground, a nice warm shower it was time to go & visit Talc Alf, another outback icon. Alf lives out along the Strzelecki track 2km from Lyndhurst

Alf has been squatting here for about 30 years with his wife & daughter. They live in a ramshackle corrugated iron house/shed. Some years ago the council decided that he couldn't live here, on what was once the "common" near the Lyndhurst railway station. After much deliberation they NOW charge him $1 a year for council rates!!!

Cornelius "Talc Alf" is a local character who uses cast off slabs of talc from the Mt Fitton talc mine to sculpt statements about politics, religion & his unusual theories about the evolution of language
