Gnowangerup

After leaving Borden headed north up the highway to Gnowangerup approx 30kms.

This is a carved statue of a Mallee fowl, certainly doesn't look like it's made from wood, looks more like a stuffed bird!!!!

Steam tractor used to clear the land

Ned Kelly outside the Gnowangerup pub. Not sure what the association is with this town as we couldn't find any plaque etc. Certainly is a long way from Glenrowan in Victoria!!!!

Gnowangerup pub, had couple beers here for Bob's birthday

Mineral springs just outside of town, it is now very salty. Once upon a time it was used to fill the local swimming pool

Thought this was a fantastic idea, watched this lady being lowered into the pool. Looked like she was doing therapy after a hip operation

Local swimming pool, spent about 4 1/2 hours here enjoying the sunshine. This is the first time in my life & at almost 63 years old, I swam 1000 metres. Must say I looked a touch dorkie with my snorkel & mask, but we had the pool to ourselves & what the heck, who cares, I did it!!!!!
