Mannum

Mannum is 82kms from Adelaide. Mannum is the birthplace of the Murray river paddle-steamers, including the Mary Ann constructed in 1853 by Captain William Randell & launched 5kms from present day township.

We arrived in Mannum early afternoon & picked a spot for our free camp on other side of the river via the ferry crossing. Decided to walk back into town & partake of an Ale or two @ local community club on banks of the river.

Mannum is the home port for the Murray River Princess paddle steamer & as luck would have it, was sailing for a 3 day trip up the river leaving @ 5pm

Just as it sailed past the sun come out for the first time today & this is the result of late afternoon sunshine GLORIOUS!!!!
