Terowie - Historic town - Where time stands still

Terowie is Australia's most famous so called railway towns. It started out life in pastoral era of mid 1800's.

When the broad gauge railway arrived from Adelaide in 1880, Terowie boomed for almost 90 years, was the break of gauge going North & South.

General Douglas McArthur arrived on our platform in March 1942 with his wife & son after escaping from the Philippines. His famous words " I came out of Bataan & I shall return".
