Farina ruins & campground

Headed off along the gravel road towards Marree (78kms) & came across Farina ruins & decided it was worth a look

The ghost town of Farina ruins offers a self guided walk around the ruins of a once thriving town along the railway line.

This town was so sure of its grain growing potential that the name "Farina" means flour in Latin.

In its heyday the town had two pubs, churches, shops, a school & a brothel.

Sidney Kidman the cattle baron also used the railway in Farina as a loading point to send cattle to Adelaide. He had 600 head of cattle on the move at all times to keep up the supply to the city

Great campsite, nice green grass, flushing toilets & hot showers ALL for the princely some of $5 each
