Super pit blast

At 1pm today we headed up to the Super pit lookout to watch the blast. We were expecting a big BANG & all we got was a little POOF!!! Quite disappointed that we didn't see rocks & gold flying everywhere!!!!!



Super pit is 3.5km long, 1.4km wide & 500 metres deep. The mine apparently has enough gold to be mined until 2017. The Madam at the brothel tour told us that the rumour going around that the city of Kalgoorlie is sitting on the largest find yet & at some time in the future, the mining companies will buy out the whole town & start mining the next big thing!!!
