Coolgardie

Coolgardie is a smaller version of Kalgoorlie, loads of old buildings full of character & 36kms south of the big smoke.

Denver City hotel the last standing & still open for a nice cold beer. In gold rush days there were 23 pubs in town

Dining room

Time to lash out & have dinner at the pub, not to mention a couple nice coldies!!!

About 5kms from town is this lovely spot called "The Gorge"

This is a traditional barrow that the prospectors pushed from one town to another is search of the GOLD STUFF. Must have been hard work especially through the sand, dust & flies & no water

This was the Railway hotel but is now a private residence.

Post office

Camel saddlebag

Stretcher from the hospital

Local RSL !!!!

Cameleer statue

The prospectors were very inventive, tin chair made from probably kerosene tin

Traditional barrow

Inside the tourist information centre in court house, they have wonderful display of the town & how people lived at the turn of the century. The town burnt down a couple times due to lack of water & most places were made from tin & hessian

Bottle collection

Old gaol
