Jack Carin's camp

Jack Carin lived a relatively quiet life travelling around the Coolgardie countryside. He lived quietly in his shack for 30 years, which he built from bits of corrugated iron & timber he collected from the bush.
Every day, weather permitting Jack hopped on his trusty bicycle & took off into the bush in search of the elusive gold.
Jack's shack still stands today at the Three Mile Hill open cut mine.
Unfortunately Jack came to a sad end, as well in his 70's he was riding into town on that trusty bike & fell & broke his hip & leg. After he was released from hospital he committed suicide. Such a sad end to a wonderful outback character.

Imagine the extreme temperatures under the tin roof of this shack, freezing cold in winter & boiling hot in summer, plus the wind, flies & dust storms.
